Is it possible for a photographic image to communicate something of the character or personality of the sitter?

These experiments set out to explore the various aspects of our personalities and the effects of time and experience.

In the final analysis they provide questions and possibilities, but never answers.

All we are left with, as Richard Avedon said, is ‘the landscape of the face’.
